I like the idea of tracking the miles I put on my horses and having a reason to ride. My goal is to keep riding my horses and driving my shetland so they don't just stand in the pasture for as long as I can. I am competitive so joining Michigan Distance Derby gives me something to work for.
Unable to ride yet as snow is still too deep here. Roads are ice covered also. I am still planning to ride and take part in MDD
ReplyDeleteStill no way that I can ride my horses. At this point I am unable to even work them on the ground. The ice is covering all the maintained driveway, two tracks, and anyplace else is under hard packed snow.Hopefully weather will make a drastic change and start to warm up. Please keep me on the MDD.
ReplyDeleteSo happy today.Finally seeing patches of sod in several places in the yard. Hoping the weather continues warm so the drive and two tracks will open up. Not able to ride yet but at least looking better. Pulled my carts out of storage. :)
ReplyDeleteFinally!!!! Took my horse for a 2.2 mile ride yesterday. Led my shetland so he could start moving his muscles.
ReplyDeleteRode my mare the other day and forgot GPS. Not going to get too many miles that way. Today will be the first ride of the year on my gelding (Slick).Need to do some ground work to see if he is with me. Finally able to ride the two tracks with some snow yet and my arena is damp but not soggy.
