I've been riding for 15 years. I ride English and Western. Hunter/Jumpers, eventing, speed, team penning, and trail riding. I typically trail ride Western, but if I'm feeling ambitious, I will ride English. When I bought my horse a year and a half ago, she had never been ridden outside of an arena.
I joined the Michigan Distance Derby because I want to track how much I trail ride my horse in one summer. My goal is to get my horse more comfortable with trail riding and roads.
