I have been riding for 15 years. I have mostly ridden Western, but I also began to ride English last year. I have shown horses and barrel raced since 2008. I now ride English, Western, and Bareback on the trails.
I decided to join the Derby because I am leaving for college this year and I want to spend as much time in the saddle and with my mom as possible. It has also always been a goal of mine to compete in an endurance race, and this is as close as I am going to get due to my schedule. I also hope this competition will help my riding ability and strengthen the bond between me and my horse.
